To Jared:
This is the very first time I call your first name directly.
The reason why I always called you Dr. Lisonbee was that I wanted to show my respect to you.
But not for this time, I feel that you became a part of my life and I really appreciate everything we shared either working on the same project or more than the relation of advisor and advisee.
Thank you so much for keeping company with me during the past two years.
You’re such a kind and considerable advisor and always supporting me whenever I encountered the problems.
It’s so coincident that we share the same birthday and we were unaware of that until this year I’m about to leave.
Instead of that, you and I met each other in the very first year we enrolled in WSU.
And I feel so lucky and honor that I’m also your very first advisee, and I’m a foreign student.
How amazing that is, I flaw through half earth to contribute to the facts happening above.
I didn’t aware that you become so important to me until the last two weeks at WSU.
The data collection trouble, the graduation crisis, the defense meeting, the limited time of completing my thesis and the welfare party you hosted for me.
Remember how depressed I was when I heard of my dad’s illness last summer, and you were the first person whom I tried to find comfort.
And yes, you kept supporting me and giving me advices as usual, and encouraged me to come back and complete my thesis.
Additionally, you assisted me to complete my thesis, even we encountered lots of unexpected crisis; you always stands for me and believes me.
I was very moved when you held a welfare party for me the day I left Pullman.
I won’t forget the very first and the last (I hope that won’t be the very last one) hug you gave to me that day.
It seemed to show how much you felt unwilling to let me go and represented our two-year-affection of advisor-advisee relationship.
I really really appreciate your never ending encouragement and supporting just like what I said under the acknowledgment in my thesis.
I TRULY and SINCERELY meant it.
Thank you so much for your love, support and advising for the past two years.
I know I won’t forget you and I hope that I never disappointed you, and even be the student whom you feel proud of. ^^
THANK YOU, Jared.
Best,
Linda
